JOHN BARON HOFF (b: 1984 Hoffman Est., IL) received his FAA Commercial Pilot's License, as well as his Single & Multi-Engine Land Ratings SMEL), Instrument, CFI & CFII Ratings in 2006 while a full-time, 3rd year student at the Univ. of Illinois - Champaign/Urbana. He will be a Senior in the Fall of 2006, and is a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. He in now a Senior Airman (E-4) with the 183rd Ftr. Wing, Springfield, IL where he serves as a Crew Chief on the F-16C fighter Aircraft, and deployed with his unit to Balad AB, Iraq. He has received the Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the National Defense Medal, The Outstanding Military Vol. Service Medal, and the Reserve Component Meritorious Service Medal. He recently received the 2006 President's Volunteer Service Award - Gold Level for his community Service efforts. He is the son of Colonel John S. Hoff, USAF (Ret.) of Chicago/Glencoe, IL and Shirley J. Hoff of Las Vegas, NV and brother of Jennifer J. Hoff (b: 1982).
