Sorry I didn't check the board earlier! My gr. grandfather, John Hoff, emigrated from Switzerland around the same time as Frank-don't have exact year yet. He settled in Wisconsin while Frank, Henry and Charles went to Kansas. There was a sister Ottilia (Matilda) that went to the state of Washington according to my info. They all had different names before emigrating John (Ignaz), Henry (Florian), Charles (Colestin) and Frank (Xaver). I have a family tree that my second cousin brought back from Switzerland that dates back to 1630. It was hand done by Bruno Hoff that my cousin met over there. As far as I can tell by the tree, their father was Urs Peter b 1817 and their mother was Theresia Sprecher. The original surname was Hof. There was a Dr. Donald Hoff in Wisconsin that was Frank's grandson, but my cousin has lost track of him or he passed away.
Let me know if I can be of help in your search and please share what you have with me. I am sure we are related somehow!
