Hi Janette,
There are many Hoff cousins in the De Pere and Green Bay area of Wisconsin. There are none that have the last name of Hoff because John had no male heirs. There was a Donald Hoff in Wisconsin that was a professor and was a relative of one of the Hoff's that moved to Kansas. What is your cousin's name and does he know his grandparent's names? That would help to track the relations. Some of the Hoff cousins are Crabb, Bangert, McDermid and Sheuer. I have been over there about 3 times to do genealogy and meet some of the cousins.

The brothers who went to Kansas were Henry, Charles and Frank. Matilda Hoff went to the state of Washington.

Please let me know if I can be of any further help to your cousin. I would like to know more about his war story also.
