Thought I'd let you know that we had a Peter Hoff here in Hopewell Township, NJ. A list of properties still belonging to the proprietor's heir, Daniel Coxe, in 1779, includes the Hoff farm, an "old an well established farm". A road return shows that it was the property of Peter Hoff, though it was under a purchase agreement fom Coxe to Barnet Christopher from 1774. So Peter Hoff had left or died before that time. I had figured him for one of our emigrants to Virginia, which included Rut Johnson, and some Vannoys and Andersons from the same vicinity of our township. See my other post to you, this date.
