Hi Robyn. My grand-father, Samuel Hoey, was related to the drapers in Springburn area of Glasgow, but I believe died when my father ,Edward, was very young. The shops spread throughout Glasgow to St.Georges Cross, and Victoria Rd., but they were named under different family members,D.M., and S.Hoey. On the death of my grand-father, the family paid for my fathers' education with the intention he would enter the trade, but dad was a bit of a rebel and went his own way. I remember as a very young boy, under five, meeting, I think, Donald or Samuel, and thinking it was my dad. We moved away from the area at that time, and contact was lost with that side of the family. By coincidence, my step sister, older than me, shares your name, Robyn.I now live in England, and have two daughters, one in Texas, and one here in Cambridgeshire, and two grand-kids,one of each.
