Hi Darren,

My cousin is Maring Fonoti, she told me about this website and I too am very interested in our family history.

Paul Leonard Hoeflich(born in Germany) is our Great-great Grandfather. He arrived in Samoa with Robert Louis Stevenson in the 1800s and yes ge was good friends with him. The Paul Hoeflich that came to your family funeral in Canada is my Uncle. And told us as well that he had a resemblance to your father.

I have recent photos of the Hoeflich graveyard spot in Samoa where our Great-great grandfather is buried along with other past family members which includes his two sons.

My family still live there is Samoa on the same peice of land where the soft drink manufacturing took place.

I will talk to other family members who have more knowledge of our history and will post out more information soon.

Look forward to hearing your response but yes you're on the right track!!!
