A biography and portrait of George T. Hodgson are included in "Montana, Its Story and Biography", Vol 3, pages 864 & 865. George, born Dec 1849, was the fourth of ten children of of William and Mary (Archie) Hodgson. George attended public schools and was working as a clerk when in 1873 he married Miss Euphemia Marcure, born in New Brunswick, daughter of Regis and Ozeta (Theriault) Marcure, of French ancestry. In 1875, they came to Montana where George worked for a mercantile business for six months. Not satisfied with Montana at the time, George returned to New Brunswick, formed a partnership with a cousin, and established a country store in Maine. In 1886, George and Euphemia sold their interests in the east and located to Flathead County, MT. George filed a homestead and was soon a prosperous farmer and stock man. In 1917, they sold the farm and retired to Kalispell, MT. Hodgson children: George (rancher near Missoula), Charles, Sophia (Mrs. John MacIntosh, Kalispell, MT), Mary (Mrs. Burt Hubbard, Troy, MT), Lena (Mrs. Charles Watson, Ontario, OR); Emma (Mrs. William Monroe, Seattle, WA), Leonard, Alvenia (Mrs. Robert Borland), William (Butte, MT), Fred.
