I don't know how much help this will be as it's very incomplete...But maybe it needs something to you and maybe you could fill in some of the gaps I have...
William Travis, Mary Ellen Hodgkinson & Eleanor Jane Travis, Ecclesall, 1847
Looking for information and links for Eleanor Jane Travis, daughter of William Travis (Gas Fitter) & his wife, Mary Ellen Hodgkinson of 1 Thomas Street, Ecclesall Bierlow, Sheffield on 24 October 1847...
Prior to her wedding, she is recorded as living in Green Street, Birmingham...
She married Frederick Gameson Hancox born 3 June 1851, at Walsall Road, Aston Manor, Birmingham on 24th March 1872 at the Parish Church, All Saints, Birmingham.
She gave birth to my great, grandfather - Frederick Henry Hancox on 4 Oct 1872 in Cape Street, Birmingham... She was still listed at Cape Street on 1881 Census as Elleana J Hancox. She is also listed as Eleanor Jane on the 1891 Census at 5 Thomas Buildings, Cape Street, Birmingham.
They had moved to Hadleys Cottages, High Park Road, Smethwick by the 1901 census where she is listed as Eliza Hancox.
On 1881 census others listed:
Head - Frederick G Hancox aged 29,
Son - Frederick H Hancox aged 8
Son - William Arthur Joseph Hancox aged 4
Son - Charles Edgar Hancox aged 3
Daug - Hannah M Hancox aged 1
I can find no trace of Hannah M Hancox after the 1881 census
On 1891 Census others listed:
Head - Frederick Hancox aged 39
Son - Frederick H Hancox aged 18
Son - Charles Hancox aged 13
Son - James Hancox aged 8
By 1901 census others listed:
Head - Frederick G Hancox aged 49,
Son - Charles Edgar Hancox aged 23
Son - James E Hancox aged 18
and Fredericks' Brother Henry aged 53
Does anyone have any information/links to Eleanor Jane Travis inc. details of death; her gas fitter father, William; her mother, Mary Ellen Hodgkinson Travis or her descendants?
Any information gratefully received...
