Lin Sandys,
I don't know if you are already aware, but Hodgkin is an old Quaker name. There have been some splits from the original family, particularly on the US side of the pond where families that were originally Hodgkins or Hodgkinson dropped the 's' and the 'son'.However, since Henry and Elizabeth originally hail from the UK, there's a good chance that they are part of my original family as Quakers did not generally marry out of the faith until the early 20th Century and there was a lot of inter-family marriages at that time.Unfortunately, I don't have access to the family tree at present. But Quakers keep records about _everything_ so you might want to start your enquiries with a Quaker Meeting somewhere in the region that Henry and Elizabeth moved to.Or if you ever come to Britain to visit, you can always look up the archives in Friends House, Euston Road, London in the library. If you yourself are not a Quaker, you might need to right to the above address to get permission to go in and look.
You might also be interested to note that Hodgkins are also related to Cadbury's (as in the chocolate makers), Pease and Backhouses.
Good luck in searching.
Judi Hodgkin
