I would be interestd in any information you may receive in answer to your question. I live in Canada and my Family are from Drogheda Co. Louth (Ire) there are stilla few living and there may be a link. I have done some reseaech back to 1625 England to Lancashire where i belive the name originated. It was know then as several names i.e., Roger/s Dodger (the art of evading capture) as well as several bastardized versions. Pleas keep me posted.
