The U.S. Census used both Hodge and Hodges for the family. Zacariah is found as Zahiriah Hodge (1850), J.T. (Z.T.) Hodge (1900) and then in 1920 as Taylor Hodges. His son, Joseph Leamon (Limon/Leemon) can also be found as Hodge and Hodges in Census reports. Joseph Leamon, my great grandfather, his siblings, wife....then my grandmother and her siblings were also recorded and/or buried as Hodges. My father's cousins, who still reside in the Headland area (and farm Joseph's land) use Hodges.
