Hi Brian,

I finally figured out my Hodge great grandfather was Joseph Leamon Hodge (my grandmother once told me his middle name was Lymon, which accounts in part for my error), born 1879, d. 1943. His father was Zachariah Hodge, b. c. 1849 in Bibb county, GA. Zachariah moved into Dale County between 1870 and 1877 (year in which he married Pensey McKay in Dale County). He might have been related to brothers Henry, Lemuel, Samuel and Elias who arrived in Henry county between 1850 and 1860 (might have been uncles, they were not his brothers). Zachariah's father was Alvah Hodge who was born in North Carolina in 1802 and married Nancy Fretwell in Morgan County, GA.

Of note, Zachariah married Pensey McKay, daughter of John Calvin McKay and brother to William McKay, my great grandmother's -Ella McKay Spears- father which means that Ella and Joseph Leamon Hodge were first cousins. My paternal grandparents, Myrtle Hodges and Frank Spears, were then second cousins.

Saludos Andrea
