Looking for info on the family of Mary Ann Elizabeth Hodges b. 1824 South Carolina m. Jasper Starling Rawls, Lincoln Co.,Mississippi
According to George Thomas Rawls in letter dated 1945...Polly Green of South Carolina m. John Hodges, who came from Ireland, was killed ..left great grandmother Hodges a widow with five children: Mary, Margaret, Liza, Sarah, and Richard...Polly and children left abt 1830 with Great Great Grandma and Grandpa Green for Mississippi, settled in area "Old Brook" south of Brookhaven. Two years after, Great Grandmother Green gave the children to differnt people to raise....Mary then met and married Jasper. (This is long letter, so only brief info given)
They are buried in the Rawls Cemetery on Hwy 583 Cole Road, near Ruth, Ms.
