P.S. In researching the Powell line I have come across the Mode name. I am so glad that I was on the right track even though I did not follow it closely because I had to be sure that James Monroe was in fact Ben's father. I have also seen that a William Powel/Powell could be James father and Ben's grandfather and that I think is where the Mode name came in to play. Thank you again for following up on my post. My father did not have much to go on therefore I am still hoping to find more on his side of the family. I myself am a Powell.

I don't think in my last post I made myself clear, but Ben and his son Riley are buried together in Diamond Grove with one headstone. I do not know the other Powells listed. I do believe Ben had a sister named Cleopatra-went by Cleo who is also buried in Gists Creek Cemetery, Sevier Co. Tenn.
