Harvey Hodges ???? TN > James Harvey Hodges 1875 TX

By by grandfather's death certificate, his father was Harvey Hodges of TN (mother not named). My grandfather, James Harvey Hodges, was born in Athens, TX in 1875. Somewhere before 1902 he moved to Matador in Motley County, TX, where he worked on the Matador cattle ranch, and was elected county sheriff from 1902 to 1905 (we have the comissioning certificate). It is believed he was married and had children in TX (we have access to some names, but they are not here as I write). We do not know how that marriage ended. However, at some point before 1920 he moved to IL, where he married Elizabeth ("Betty") Patronella Schmidt (and/or Smith). They had 2 children: the younger son died in infancy; and my father, Curtis John Hodges (aka John Curtis, John Curt, J.C., or Curt). John Harvey died in Phoenix, Arizona @ 1957. He may have been the brother of Jessie H. (J.H.) Hodges (who was Motley County's Treasurer @ 1905), cousin to Solomon George Hodges, who traveled to Motley County by covered wagon in 1900. Please, does anyone out there have any connecting relations or other info on Harvey, James, Jessie and/or Solomon?
