I have now found who Margaret "Maggie" Hodges parents were and I would love to know if someone has more info on them for me.

Her fathers name was Meshac Hodges (our family called him "Mace", son of John Hodges) and her mother's name was Nancy Caroline Bozarth. Caroline was first married to Meshac and after he died in Taney Co Missouri she moved to Johnson Co Arkansas and married James Shackleford.

I am hoping that I can find more info on Meshac and of course his father John Hodges and family. My grandma has always said that her grandma (Maggie Hodges Carter) looked like a little old indian. I have since spoke with a grandson of Maggie's (he is 78) and he said that he remembered that she had tons of Indian pictures and such in her home. I have always been told that the Hodges is where our Cherokee line could be found. Does anyone recognize these names? Have any information to share? I would love to have some photos also. Thank you in advance.
