Thanks Winnie,
He has been a real hard one. We don't know why if he didn't keep his Kilpatrick name. His mother was Mary Jasebell Hodges Kilpatrick, and as I said, she was kicked by a cow in 1878 and is buried at the Burlington Cem., Burlington, Boone Co., AR. She never ewnt to MO with her parents at the end of the Civil War. She was in Newton Co., AR with her sister Martha Jane Hodges Middleton. Her husband was the brother to Wash Middleton, the famous Bald Knobber of MO. Her husband Joe, is the one that hid Wash out. We just never knew where John L. and his sister Sarah A. went after 1880 in Hickory Co., MO when their grand mother died. I hope you have sent me in right dirrection, thanks this will be a great help.
