Dear Sonny:
Thanks again for your interest in Elias Hodges. The one I questioned was in Granville County, S.C. wherein he made his will during 1779; listed his wife Mary; his brother Robert Hodges and his "cousin" Drury Hodges, a minor. The will was actually posted in Effingham County, Ga. during 1800. A Capt. Thomas Daniel was a witness to the will. In Pitt County the original Elias Hodges made a will, but it was destroyed; however, from other documents I know that he has at least: Benjamine Hodges Sr.; Roger Hodges; daughter Martha married to Nathan Godley and a daughter married to a ___Daniel of Granville County, S.C.There was a good possibility that Elias Hodges Sr. had a son or possibly a grandson named Elias Hodges?Sincerely, John K.
