Hello, I am very much interested in this family, I believe that you have mis read the census in reguard to the boys that were 9 & 10 listed with A. & Emily Hodges on the 1850 wayne Co. Il census. We have just recently re-checked this census record and it reads A. Hodges 26, Emily 22, S.E (female) 3, G.W. Harlin,10 & T. J. Harlin 9.I believe that the T.J. is my great greandfather Thomas Jeffrson Harlan(d).A family bible gives his birthdate and the year 1841, Wayne City, Wayne Co. IL.It does not list his parents, I have thought that Emily was possibly their sister. The different spellings of the Harlan name isn't unusual my grand parents spelled it Harlan and so did my father. On Thomas Jefferson's Civil war recored it is spelled 3 ways. Thomas Jefferson was in Arkansas in 1860,He joined the CSA and was captured and spent most of the was in prison camps. He faught with the Mo. 10thInfantry.He was married in 1859 to Sarah J. Gunn in Union Co. Il,I don't live far from Prarie Grove Ar.If I can be any help to you let me know
