Odd thought, but wondering whether William's wife Margaret's last name is not "Gilkey". In 1751 (I believe), William was co-executor for the estate of John Gilkey, along with Walter Gilkey in York County PA. William Hodge and Walter Gilkey named their children very similarly (except for the name "Walter"). Although non-family executors are common enough, given the status of Walter at the time, it seems odd that a non-relative would be made a co-executor.
Thoughts anyone?
