3       Obituary, Rochester MN Post, Friday July 20th, 1883, p3, c7, Hodge - At his residence in Farm Hill, Olmsted county, Minn., July 7th, 1883, William W. Hodge, aged 57 years, 5 months and 2 days. In the demise of Mr. Hodge, this community has lost one of it's oldest, most estimable and valued citizens. He was born in Otisco, Onondaga county, NY in 1826. He removed with his family to Minnesota, settling at Lake City, and embarked in the nursery business, where he lived five years when he came to Farm Hill, purchased a farm and began his career as a farmer. In this he was successful. He was a prudent and careful manager, industrious, honest and true. A man of sterling integrity, always kind, affable and obliging, he had but few, if any, enemies and died universally beloved and lamented. He leaves a stricken wife and son, an only child, to mourn his departure.

Mr. Hodge belonged to the regular Baptist church. Funeral services were July 8th at the Baptist chapel in Farm Hill on Sunday.
