I read the 1880 and 1900 census records for James Hodge, then checked the ancestry family trees, which has the following, perhaos something new there for you:
James Washington Hodge b 5 Oct 1840 Washington Co. Tennessee, died 10 Aug 1900 Rothwell Menifee Co KY., son of Robert Edward Hodge and Lucinda Ann Hall, b 15 June 1829 Montgomery co. KY. dau/of Edward Hall 1785, and Amelia Garrett 1787. Married #1 Mary Ann Hall b 16 Jul 1838 Rothwell Clark co. KY, dau/of Levi Hall and Elizabeth Alexander. Children:

Robert abt 1864
