I've been trying to sort out my Hodge/Saye/Thompson ancestors. So far, this is what I've found: William Hodge (1700-1767) married Margaret Cook (1704-1789) They had 1.William II, 2.Mary, and 3.Elizabeth, and maybe other children. 1.William II married Elizabeth Cook (a cousin?) and had a son 1A William III (1762) who married his cousin 2B Ann Saye, daughter of Richard Saye and 1 William's sister, 2.Mary. 2. Mary Hodge (1745-1830) married Richard Saye (1740-1779 possibly son of Nancy Hodge!) who died in battle in Savannah, GA. They had 2A Sarah Saye who married her cousin 3A Alexander Thompson and 2B Ann Saye who married her cousin 1A William Hodge III. 3. Elizabeth Hodge (1732-1820) married Alexander Thompson (1739-1815) and had 3A James Thompson, who married his cousin 2A Sarah Saye. Could this possibly be correct? I certainly hope not.
