Re: Benjamin Hodgdon and daughters
Benjamin was Benjamin Snow Hodgdon, oldest child of Israel Hodgdon and Lucy Snow, named for his maternal grandfather. He married first, circa 1838, Eveline Curtis, born
12/20 March 1818 at Woodstock, Maine, daughter of Charles Curtis and Jane C. Deering.Eveline died 23 February,
1856 probably at Minot, Maine and is buried in the Old Cemetery at Mechanic Falls.Benjamin married second,
2 July 1857 (intentions) Lurania Green, born 13 April
1816, Otisfield, Maine, daughter of Jedediah Green and Martha Lombard.
Benjamin and Eveline had children: Lucy Jane, born
21 March 1839 at Hebron, married 8 April 1866 Minot, her sister's widower, Samuel Hiram Hutchinson; Lauraette/Lurette Hodgdon, born 28 Jauary 1841, Hebron, married 30 January 1858 (intentions Minot) Samuel Hiram Hutchinson, died by 31 March 1866; Harriet Hodgdon, born
7 March 1843; Frances Hodgdon, born July 1847 (from age at death) Minot, died 30 September 1855, buried with her mother at the Old Cemetery, Mechanic Falls; Noah Wallace Hodgdon, born 7 January/February 1856, Minot, married 24 November 1877 at East Hebron, Lydia E. Keene, died 11 April 1910 at Mexico, Maine of typhoid fever, buried Damon Cemetery, Buckfield, Maine.Benjamin died 26 April 1888, Hebron, Maine.Lurania died the previous year,
23 October 1887 at Hebron.
I have information also on all of Benjamin's siblings save Henrietta. His sister Harriet was my great great grandmother.I can also go back on the Hodgdon line from Israel and one generation on the Snows.
Hope this helps.
