Hello, James.Would you by any chance know the children of Richard and Polly Hodgdon? My 2nd ggrandmother was Mary M. Hodgdon, and her records all show her to be the daughter of Richard and Mary Hodgdon. It's possible that she was born near Farmington, or Alton, or Rochester (most records don't agree), I don't know which.I do know that her father was living with her and her husband (Cushing B. Wilson) in Boston during the 1855 state census, at which time he was 80 years old and blind. That puts him being born in ca. 1775.
I'm afraid I've hit the standard brick wall in finding him; I certainly hope you can give me some direction.
Thanks, Richard
