The author Patricia Gail Steele has written an historical novel based on several interviews with Gladys Hockett Nicholson from Rawlins Co. Kansas who is now 102 years old. Mrs. Nicholson tells the stories of her childhood in the old sod house homestead near Brewster. Kansas. Gladys Hockett is the oldest daughter of Clark Hockett and Cora Mapes. Her grandfather is Harrison Hockett. This family migrated through Iowa and Nebraska and into Kansas. If anyone has interest in purchasing a copy of this book they can write for more information to:
