I don't have much more on this part of my family than what's posted. There's a question whether Henry's middle name was Dee or Douglas; my mother says it was Dee, my dead aunt's notes say it was Douglas. The Baylor Co., TX 1900 federal census lists his birth year as 1860 in TX (he could have been 9 years old depending on when the census was taken). The census indicates his father was born in AL and his mother in GA. He was nicknamed "Big Daddy" and my mother claims he never owned an automobile.

I'll ask my mother if Ida Reaves Hockersmith rings any bells. She doesn't seem to recall or ever have known much about their history. Seems I should be able to find more on a former Wichita Falls, TX mayor, but...

If you or your Hockersmith think we're related and have more information, it's very welcome. Most of my family was/is in or from Smith Co. and Tyler, TX.
