William Hoccaday 1653
Can anyone on the list give me more information on the following. I see on this list where a Wiliam was transport in 1653 but this shows a William transporting others.
"A William MACKGAHAYE, was transported to Yorke County, Virginia by Mr. William Hoccaday. Mr. Hoccaday received a land patent in 1653 for transporting immigrants.
Mr. William Hoccaday, 1000 acres Yorke Co, 14 Apr 1653, page 89. Near the head of Ware Creek, NW by N upon a former devdt. and NW by N towards Waraney Cr. Transporting of 20 persons: Alexander Watson, Wm MACKGAHAYE, Andrew Sharpe, Jane Johnson, Randall ______, Isabell Grace, Mary Reeise, Tomasin Madero (or Maders), mary Graham, James _____, Edward Hodge, Richard Gillman, Willm. Moline, Fra. Peppett, Richard Jones, Michaell Barrow, Richard Moore, Joane Rivers, Ja. Nicholson, Wm. Gowin. Renewed 20 Nov. 1654.
