Last Will and Testament of Robert Durrett
In the name of God, Amen.
I Robt. Durrett of the county of Spotsylvania being of perfect
memory but considering the uncertainty of Death, do make this my
last Will & Testament hereby revoking all former wills.
Item 1.It is my will and desire that all my just Debts and funeral
expenses be paid & satisfied.
Item 2.I give & bequeth [sic] to my son Rich. Hokerday, issue of my
body the Land I may die possessed of to him and his heirs and assigns
for ever.
Item 3.I give and bequeath to the said Rich. Hokerday and Clabourn
Sulivan my sons issues of my Body one Negro woman Nancy and her
increase issues of Bess given & bequeath to me by my Father's will.
Also one Negro man Billey to be equally divided between them, all
the residue of my estate of every kind that I may die in possession of
to them and their heirs & assigns forever.
And lastly, I do hereby appoint Henry Durrett and C. (?) Paul Conner
Executors of this my last Will and Testament given under my hand &
seal this fourth day of April 1823.

At a Court held for Spotsylvania County the 6th day of December
1824
The last will and testament of Robert Durrett deceased was proved by
the Oaths of the three witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded
and the executors named in the said will came into Court and
renounced the executorship and on the motion of Henry Durrett who
made oath thereto and together with Paul Connor his security entered
into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of $2500 condition as
the law directs certificate is granted him for obtaining [words
scratched out] letters of administration on the said Durrett's estate
with his will aforesaid annexed in due form.
