Greetings All,
I have recently started exploring my Hobson family history. I am trying to find any information related to Francis Hobson who was born sometime around 1686. He is known to have lived around the area of Charlemont, Co. Armagh, Northern Ireland. He purchased 200 acres of land in New Gardens, Chester Co. Pennsylvania in 1713. He married Martha Waitehouse (maybe Wainehouse?) in May of 1716.
Francis and Martha had 5 children. They are in order of birth (?) Francis, Mary, John, Joseph and Martha.
By all indications, they were probaby Quakers.
I would appreciate any information that anyone may have in trying to fill in some of the details of his life prior to coming to the U.S.
