I am going to make a couple of suggestions since you are new at this.We are all new to the internet research at some point.
Go down to the bottom of your message posted, and find a spot where it says "Search this forum"Type in one of the names, then hit enter, it will show you ALL THE messages where the name is shown.READ THESE MESSAGES, in case you get lucky and find your kin.ALSO, type in the name of the towns in your message, hit enter, this will show you all the HOBBS postings that have this town listed.
This is on Rootsweb and this Genforum, and other search sites.Never forget GOOGLE, search your names on google.
I have found MORE LOST COUSINS listing a message with my grandfather who was Henry Abud Norris, and/or Charles Newton Hobbs on google or message boards.Or I should say THEY HAVE FOUND ME by google and message boards sometimes 2 years after I posted a message.
USE your Census records, search them AND PRINT IT OUT WHEN YOU FIND THEM, PLUS THEIR NEIGHBORS...and good luck!
I do not have any Hobbs in Oklahoma, that I know of.
99.9% OF THE PEOPLE RESEARCHING GENEALOGY ARE GREAT PEOPLE AND HELPFUL, don't worry about the .9999% that are rude and hateful, they have a problem, not you.
