Hello Janet-
Wondering if you might be looking for the Lynn/Hobbs family who left TN after the 1860 census for the west.
My Alexander Hobbs m-Emaline 'Ella' Lynn in 1864 in Lincoln Co., TN.Seems the Lynn family went west before Alexander and Emaline did, but all ended up in OK, TX, and some in CA.
A lady who lived near Oklahoma City, OK, now deceased, did much work on the Hobbs/Lynn family.
My Alexander was the son of Christopher Hobbs and unknown mother as Christopher, b-c1801 married (2nd wife) Nancy Rachel Reynold in 1851 in Grundy Co., TN; Alexander was an 18 year old living in their household on 1860 Grundy Co., TN census. Christopher and Nancy Hobbs are my g-g-parents.
If you think this might be the family you're researching, will be glad to share.
