FIRST GENERATION
1.Mary HOBBS.
She was married to John MASON.Mary HOBBS and John MASON had the following children:
+2 i. Richard MASON.
SECOND GENERATION
2.Richard MASON was living in Dublin Twp., Phila. Co., Pa..He immigrated. From "Passengers and Ships prior to 1684, Penns colony Vol I by Sheppard pub
1974" foot note page 51, John Mason from Farrington Monthly Meeting ,
Berkshire, his wife Mary and three sons John, Robert, and Richard Mason ,
came with certificate of removal from the meeting dated 27 2m 1682. Meyers,
Quaker arrivals, He died before 2 6m 1683, when administration on his estate
was recorded in Philadelphia; it was the first such entered in Philadelphia
records.
Records of both son, John, Robert and Richard exist. John thought to be
husband of Rose Mason who married George Dalrymple. Believe same George who
showed up in Berkley Co S.C obtaining land grant about 1760 near my John
Mason. I have never been able to prove connection to Philadelphia/Berkshire
Masons but I have tried. Hope that this helps. What is your connection or
interest in these Masons. I do have other records on family which obtained
by researcher in Berkshire. Appears probable that John may have had brother
Richard who was also granted land in William Penn's Colony. Regards.
