Hi,
I am interested in the Hobbs family who moved from Kentucky to a place that was later called Hobbs Station, Indiana. During the Civil War, Absolom Hobbs was forced to escape from guerillas. At that time, he lived in what is now Lee Co., Ky. He went North to Indiana.
Cyntha Hobbs Hale (daughter of Job and Susan Flannery Hobbs) told a researcher in the early 1900s that she had several brothers who went to Indiana during the Civil War to a place later called Hobbs Station.
Susan Hobbs was my G-Grandfather's half-sister...
I am interested, however, in the escape the Hobbs family made from KY. They secretly helped construct houseboats on the North Fork of the KY River. From there, they went down stream to Clays Ferry where they encountered fighting.
Have you heard anything like this before???
