James Francis Hobbins (1880/81 - 1942/43)
My father's name was James Francis HOBBINS(1921-1987), named after his father,James Francis HOBBINS(1880/81 - 1942/43). James Francis HOBBINS, Sr. was a postman for the Philadelphia, PA post office at 30th st Station. He was married to Emma JAMES(1881). Emma had 2 children, Ruth b. 1909 and Richard b. 1911, from a first marriage to a Richard STEDMAN. 1920 PA Census has James Francis living with Emma, the two step-children and my father, age 9. I believe that my grandfather did have at least two sisters. At time of 1930 PA Census he was living with a sister & her husband(McNally), along with another sister. My mother thought there may also be a brother, possibly named Philip, who lived in New Jersey. James Francis HOBBINS, Sr.lived in Phila.,PA all his adult life, as far as I can tell, on or around 11th street or Brown street. Emma and children were still alive but living apart from James Francis, Sr. in 1930.
If anyone has any information please ear-mark:
HOBBINS/JAMES when you send a message.
Thank you, Lois Hobbins Mitchell
