Hi Brian, I just wonder if i amy have a connection to your lineage even further back in time. My earliest Hoban with good records is also from Castlebar. His name was Dennis Hoban my grat great grandfather. He left for America in 1858 to Boston served in us civil war navy. finally settled near Scranton Pennslyvania liveing rest of life as a coal miner. We do know he had many brothers and sisters but only know the name of a sister Mary who married a Patrick Jordan and settled in /fall river , Massachussetts. Dennis father who would have been born in early 1800's was named John hoban he according to family history also left for America around 1848 and died in Rochester New York. Since you are a Hoban and live in or around Mayo Castlebar does any of this sound familiar or make possible connections? thanks, Frank Dennis
