James Hoath b Ireland resident in Bolton 1861 census
On a brick wall with this one. James is found at Bolton 1861 census with wife, sons Michael and Martin and daughter Bridget and Sister Honora HARE (PRESUME THIS IS HIS SISTER IN LAW).
Martin had a son Martin my grandad, he died on the Somme. he had three daughters all migrated to Australia 1920's and 1949. Between them they had 23 children so lots of Hoath descendants in Australia now.
My brick wall is firstly Michael son of the first Martin. Cant find him in the 71 census, can't find him in the death notices. Have looked overseas and found a Michael Hoath of the same age killed in battle at Mission Ridge in the civil war. Would appreciate help and advice re obtaining details of this Michael.
James died in 1871 through an accident at work and am trying to find details from the Bolton area.
The first Martin joined the army at Bolton (the 95th) and his papers said he was born at Galway. Have spent a small fortune trying to trace his birth and baptism to no avail.
Any ideas here??????
I know life wasn't meant to be easy but, ANY IDEAS.
