I have a HORE/HOARE etc., family from Devon.

I have a James HOARE who was born in Axminster in 1771. He was a Revenue Officer (Customs Inspector in today's language) and married Dorothy HUETT.
Their son, Benjamin, born in Musbury in 1793 becam a Master Mariner in the merchant navy.

They all seem to have been mariners in this family. Benjamin had an illegitimate son, Benjamin Bartholomew, born in 1836 in Jamaica and he, too, became a master mariner in the merchant navy. This Benjamin Bartholomew's eldest son, Benjamin, born in 1871 in London, also joined the merchant navy, but he didn't like the sea life and jumped ship in Australia in the 1890s

Any connections to any of these Benjamins? (or to James?)
