This man designed the garden at a house now belonging to a friend. I though I would research Charles Grey for him and discovered that he was born Hoare, but changed his name to Grey in 1927, at the ripe age of 52! But why?? He was descended, so I gather, from Henry Hoare of Stourhead and grew up in Hackwood.... I am not a Hoare but I am intrigued.
