{Charles} Abraham Hougland & Andrew Hougland -- Brothers?
Morning!
I don't think I am related to you or them (well, maybe). However, I managed to find their 7 others (Abraham b. 1799 KY and Susanna b. 1803-1805 KY, according to 1870 Census, she was blind).
Apparently, their first born was Priscilla "Draught" Hougland...Well, actually, I am certain she was after I read Jeff T Nester's post.
A and S were married on Feb 27, 1823 and have moved back and forth several times from Muhlenberg Co., KY and Warrick Co., IN... Guess that there were no wills with the name-- Hougland -- in Muhlenberg County, KY. There were deeds from 1823 to 1842, more than likely these dates were when they sold the land from the Land Claims. There was one marriage in 1823. From a Deed in 1836, it was suggested that Abraham Jr married Susannah Ward and that Abraham SR was dead.
The above information I got was from a library...Library Annex [[email protected]]... Coni Theios Wallace... I think the librarian has misquoted their SR-JR names? I asked her for clarification but she wanted $$ sent to her first. :-(
Your Abraham was a SR, JR or just Charles Abraham Hougland? Take a look at this site because there was a Abraham JR who died much later, on February 13, 1903:

You may wonder why I bothered mingling in those ancestors. Well, mine came to a dead-end. You may be holding a detour sign; I could have easily missed you...
I wonder who fathered my great-grandfather ANDREW b.1818 (and Charles Abraham b. 1799).... (sighs!) Apparently, Andrew, married twice, came from Muhlenberg Co., too. Thought they were brothers or cousin... Charles Abraham was 18 years senior... Could Abraham SR be Charles Abraham's father?
Sincerely, Steven Houghland
