Probably not. The family seemed to be from the Massachusetts/Ohio areas.

Gideon, John, and Eli were brothers. Eli never had the full name Elijah because Eli was his mother's maiden name, I got this information from Gideon's grandson Joseph directly. The Veteran's Administration has him listed as a veteran, which he probably was not, for a Confederate cavalry unit from Georgia. According to the family Eli was a master mechanic and worked on railroad engines and did work for the Confederate cause during the war, but never was in the military. John on the other hand served in the Union forces but because so many John Hixons are listed as Union soldiers, he does not have Veteran Admin status and does not get his grave flagged anymore.

All three brothers are buried in La Crosse Wisconsin
