Thank you for your posting. I am married to Wm Hill Hitt III whose family is from them 'southern' Hitt's. I believe his Dad was from Georgia, served in WWII and would've been born a bit before his wife Dorothy who's birthyear was 1919, she being from Birmingham Alabama area. They both served in WWII, she as an RN. I am just starting to try to get that part of the family tree going so any help you could give me on the "southern" Hitt's I'd really appreciate. Just as an aside, yes there are "Northern" Hitts too as I found a Wm Hitt served in the Civil War and was buried not far from us in Delaware county NY while searching out for the Wm Hill Hitts. I do know Hill was a family name from a grandmother's side so maybe you might have something on that for me too! I have not been able to find any Wm HILL Hitt' though! Odd in that there were so many! LOL! < My hubby's Dad is rumored to have married 4X, Dorothy being his 2nd bride!> Appreciate any hints, Noreen
