Hoping to find where on the Hitt family tree my great great grandmother belongs. I've heard her name pronounced "Liza" but the pronunciation could be off. Her tombstone just has initials "L.J. Jewell". Her husband was Samuel Jewell 1847-1922. Census records from Pickens County, SC show her variously as Luisa or Lusa or even Eliza. I think her parents may be Wiley Hitt b. 1811 but I'm not certain. Any help would be appreciated.
