If your grandfather was Fred Hisey, born around 1898 to Frank and Mary Hisey of Adams County, Ohio, you have a ton of Hisey far-flung relatives. Doing a little digging on census sites as well as the FamilySearch.com site, Frank was born about 1860 in Indiana. His parents were John and Barbara—John being born about 1821 in Virginia to the Hisey family. John’s parents were John (abt 1799) and Sarah. John’s dad was Christian Hisey, and you can find references to him on the Genforum site. I am a Hisey through the Ohio branch of the family, and the closest relative we share is Christian Hisey Sr., nearly 200 years back. As near as I can tell, though, nearly all Hiseys in America seem to come from one family that came to America in the mid-1700’s, settled in Virginia, and then branched three ways in the early 1800's—to Ohio, Indiana, and some that stayed in Virginia.

Sorry I can’t tell you of any near family.
