Pamela,

I did a quick census search. If your g'father was Fred W Hisey (b. Nov. 1897) of Jefferson Township, Adams Co, Indiana, census records show his parents to be Frank (b. Feb. 1860) and Mary J (b. Oct. 1863).

Frank's parents would have been John (b. about 1810, Virginia) and Barbara E (b. about 1824 in Ohio).

Your public library might subscribe to census records or to a paid genealogy site, where you could obtain more information. Another good site to try (it's down tonight) is the LDS site at familysearch.com.

I suspect that all Hiseys in the US tie back to one family that came to the US in 1751. I think they all resided at one time in Virginia, and then many moved to either Ohio or Indiana.
