jane-i have a john hirst with same wife and siblings-i didnt know he was illegitimate-had his father as james hirst born 1766 in emley and mother mary brook.have you any more details on ellen hirst?-cant trace her.enos married martha- their grave is in emley churchyard and also mentions their son adam alfred hirst lost in action 31.7.1917 in ypres.rachel mare was born 1805 in kirkburton died in 1864.john and rachel lived with their family at thorncliffe green,kirkburton in 1841.john died 11.5.1878 age 83.
