Shelly,
These are some of the Maryland Hyatts, several of whom were named Shadack, Meshack [not Messick] and Obednego [recall the Biblical co-sufferers with Daniel], who moved about, including to N.C. I don't think they were related to the Hiotts of Colleton or the Hiotts of Quaker John [via Reedy R./ Greenville Dist., SC], and probably not related to the Hiotts of Anderson Co., SC, either.
