While looking for information about John Hinton and his wife, Dorothy Forrest, I ran across your posting.I am a descendant of John and Dorothy through their daughter, Anne (1803-1883), who married 06 Apr 1829 Henry Bond in Gates Co., NC.Anne was the third wife of Henry (1792-1848), son of Richard Bond and Mary Blanchard of whom you speak in your posting. Anne and Henry had several children:
1) Richard Henry Lee Bond (06 Oct 1830-25 Jun 1867) m. 07 Oct 1857 Chowan Co., NC, Annie R. Hoskins.Richard had children, but does not name them in his will.
2) John W. Bond (19 Aug 1832-17 Nov 1852)
3) James Fletcher Bond (06 Feb 1834-12 Jun 1905) m. 08 Nov 1853 Mary Katherine Willey (these are my great great grandparents)
4) Thomas Benbury Bond (28 Feb 1837-08 Jul 1839)
5) Mary Elizabeth Bond (07 Jun 1839-09 Jul 1839)
6) Anna Mariah Bond (22 Mar 1842-30 Jan 1846)
Anne Hinton Bond married Henry Willey (father of Anne's daughter-in-law, Mary Katherine) after the death of Henry Bond and is buried in the Willey Family Cemetery in Gates Co., NC.I don't have much information about her siblings, except through her father's and mother's wills:
1) John W. Hinton
2) Margaret Hinton m. ______ Freeman
3) Ann Hinton m. 1) Henry Bond, 2) Henry Willey
4) Daughter Hinton m. _______ Odom and had sons, Oliver H. Odom and Richard B. Odom
5) Julie Hinton m. ________Nowell and had several children, including son, Joseph Nowell.
These are all listed in John Hinton's will, written 1854 and probated 1857.
Also, I have in my possession the Bond Family Bible from which the records were transcribed for the Gates County Book of Bible Records. In that Bible, Ann's name is spelled with the "e" and without it and her name is given as Nancy and as Anna in several places.
I am interested in knowing any connection of John Hinton (m. to Dorothy Forrest) to Col. John Hinton who married Mary Hardy and died in 1737 and any connection to the John, William, and Elizabeth Hinton who were transported by Henry Hill prior to 1710 (Hathaway's NCHGR, Vol. II, p. 305).
