Am wondering if Aaron Hinman is the son of Noah Hinman (1740-1830) and Phebe Minor. Reasons to think this is a possibility:
1. According to Aaron's enlistment record, he was born in Woodbury, Litchfield County, CT in about 1776. Noah Hinman and Phebe Minor are both from Woodbury and had children born there (at least Relief Hinman; Noah, Jr. Appeared to have been born in Massachussetts).
2. We know from census records that Aaron Hinman was living in Paris, Oneida County, NY in 1800. His son Timothy (1796-1866) was also living in Paris, Oneida County in 1820. Noah Hinman, Sr. and Noah Hinman, Jr. both were living in Sherburne Twp, Chenango County in 1810 and 1820. Sherburne Twp was part of Paris Twp, Oneida County prior to 1795. So this tells us that Noah, Noah Jr. and Aaron lived in close proximity to each other. The only problem is that I cannot seem to locate Noah and Noah, Jr. in 1800 (in 1790, Noah Hinman and his family were living in Mohawk, Montgomery County; and I found both Noah and Noah Jr. on the tax lists for Charleston, Montgomery County, NY in 1799), or Aaron in 1810 (he died in 1813, so is gone from the census records after 1810).

Any thoughts or additional info is greatly appreciated.
