There are two John Hinmans the right age to be his father.
The one that definitely is not his father is:
John R. Hinman b Acc 12/21/1840 d 12/20/1901 Acc
marr to Susan J. Lewis b 1844, marr 1862. Listing in 1880 of their children on US Census for Accomack Co VA does not include a son named Wade (who would appear as approx age 3 on any census in 1880). This John R. Hinman was the son of John R. Hinman Sr. 1817 Acc VA - 1878 Acc VA and his wife Elizabeth E. Ewell. 1816 VA -1895
The second John Hinman was born 1854 Accomack Co VA
son of Littleton Hinman and Serena (Taylor). More research needed on him as to when he married, to whom and names of any children.
